Dave Rogers has been nominated for a national award for clinical excellence. This is with his work in the ‘Back to life’ program. This program has helped many people restore function and return to work having suffered with long-term backpain.

 Although he narrowly missed out on the top prize, he was shortlisted to a group of five national services recognised for their outstanding contributions.

 Well done Dave!

 

Alexander and 5 other members of his rugby club ‘Bournville RFC’ completed gruelling 200 mile ‘Tour de Yorkshire’ to raise money for the Anthony Nolan trust. Over two and a half days the team of 6 climbed over 20,000ft on bikes to complete the challenge. We were proud to have raised over £3,000 in donations for such a worth while cause.

St Paul’s Physio will have a new home in the New Year, but don’t worry we’re not moving far! From Lionel Street to Ludgate Hill which is about 500 meters from our current location. The moving date will be announced soon.

Andy, partner at St Pauls Physio, has been awarded the title of Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the University of Birmingham School of Medicine and Dentistry, in recognition of his teaching of undergraduate medical students. Andy was involved in the development of a simulated patient teaching programme for 4th year students and continues to enjoy developing our doctors of the future.

We are excited to welcome David Rogers to our team of highly specialist Physiotherapists. Dave has over 20 years’ experience of helping people with musculoskeletal pain. After completing a degree in Sports Studies, he qualified as a chartered physiotherapist from the University of Birmingham in 1994 and in 2010 gained his Masters degree in Pain Science and Management from Keele University. As well as working at St Paul’s he also works at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham, where he has established a functional restoration service for people with back pain. As well as his clinical work, David is a lecturer at the University of Birmingham. He has recently written a book titled ‘Back to Life – How to Unlock Your Pathway to Recovery When Back Pain Persists’, published by Penguin (ISBN 9781473529601)

We are delighted to welcome Karen Chagar to the practice in the position of practice administrator.  She brings a wealth of experience in customer service  and is a much needed addition to the team hopefully she will be able to keep the physios in check!
